Kept busy.....

Hello!

First of all apologies on the delay on this post ! The twins are of course born and well and we all have had a fantastic Christmas ! 

It's been extremely hard, hence the lack of blogging, the twins are 3 months old and finally sleeping through the night. The crazy 3am feeds make you feel like "am I alive?!, what is going on?!",double effort but worth it.

Our 3 year old has taken to her new siblings very well she has been amazing which has helped us lots. 

Again sorry for not blogging recently !

Growth ...

Had another scan and twin 1 was showing as not growing 100% but they feel it may be regular scanner errors due to how regular we go for scans.

All is still well with the pregnancy and blood flow,so fingers crossed can still go as long term as possible !

My 2 year old is getting more used to the twins coming and cannot wait to help out  !

Again apologies on late updates always busy but will out info and my thoughts up as and when I can :)

Yes still here!

Apologies it's been a while ! I can say both twins are still growing very well! I think might be a few millimetres in length different but all good!

Due date is around sept 23rd at this rate... Still preparing our room and daughter for the two new arrivals ;) busy constantly.

Getting daughter to understand that twins are coming!

Hi all,

Over the last week or so since the gender scan we have been telling our daughter that she is going to be a big sister to a baby brother and sister!

I think she still does not fully understand what is going on but at times i feel she does and she seems excited about this.  This for me is still uncharted waters as what will it be like when they do arrive on the scene.... As a dad i really want to give as much attention to all my children and i feel with two newborns this is going to be tough.

Measures in place....

Only plan we have is to take turns on weekend taking our daughter out and having some time with her so she feels not left out, i am welcome to more suggestions!!!

Overall i think she is excited as we all are and feels she wants to help out she says "mummy has two baby's in her tummy" and " I will help feed them! " which is very sweet of her.

Twins gender revealed !!

Hi all!

We went for our private scan today, very nice little place.

My partner laid back on the bed both quite nervous and after the gel is applied we see our two little gems on the screen, heartbeats all in check and ok!

Then the fun part... Gender check time my face clued to the above screen...then first twin.... A Girl ! fantastic! And second was harder to find as moved in awkward position... But then I think we all saw before the sonography man was like its a boy ( we could see the testies ). 

So yes one if each! Exciting times ahead and I feel great.

Names and all sorts to plan now !

Twins heartbeat sound check this morning!

Well lets say it was quite interesting!

We get to the doctors with our 2 year old in tow, see the midwife in her office and they explain they will do the heartbeat checks and hear both at different times, not just one loud heartbeat mix up which i thought it was going to be.

My partner lays back and more of the slime gel is pasted onto her tummy ( i have no clue for the medical word for this device) and at first it was hard to pin point the sound thinking "come on its twins!".... and everybody goes through the mild panic stage of OH MY GOD ARE THEY OK?!.. but yes they were fine and i can tell you one was at 150bpm and other was around 160bpm (one is smaller than the other aww)

So if you believe in old wife's tales it could be two girls... not bad at all! but we have booked in a gender private scan for 11th May so that is judgement day!

Double up!

Hmm twins ... Double everything, milk, nappies, pram, cot, bottles, bath.... The list goes on!  I am thinking ahead indeed and even this weekend we getting boxes of wipes.

We used thousands on one child so two is going to be crazy...

This particular model is £1200 I don't think so... :/ 

Crazy dreams....

I must admit I get some crazy dreams lately about the twins coming ... Some nights it's nightmares and some about what sex they are going to be or like a hidden 3rd twin where the hospital did not pick up on ahhhh! 

Perhaps I read too much on Dr Google! Which is a big no! Guys do not do this it makes you worry more and think of things that are ridiculous ! Leave it to the staff at the hospital and all is well.

Happy Easter & Start saving and planning early !

Put away each month, ask family and friends to help if they can .. Sell your old baby stuff providing you have had one child before, if you had more than one and kept your stuff you should be all good! ( depening on sex )

We archived lots of our first borns chlothing, toys etc ... Yes it's for a girl but who knows with twins ! 

When we find out the sex we could sell and put to new things it's all up in the air for the first part!

Let me know what you dads think that are expecting twins I would live to know what your thinking too.

Thoughts this morning...

Well after a couple of appointments my partner has had, she has got to attend lots more scans than the normal pregnancy ... Risks etc and make sure they growing just fine.

My daughter knows about it but just need to feed the information to her on a regular basis.... Mummy has two babies in her tummy ! 

We will be finding out the sex of the twins! This is one of the common annoying questions asked by everyone!

Finally...i keep remembering i need double everything... double pram, double nappies etc etc.....

MONEY!!!!

Triple the Trouble ! my first post

Wow well this is my first post as a new blogger, I will try to blog daily and hopefully other fathers will relate to my experiences of being a dad, welcome to my blog!

My main reason of doing this is to share my day to day life of being a dad to my lovely 2 year old daughter and even better news... we have twins on the way! due in September.... only found out like two weeks ago so it's all a bit crazy hence my blog title Triple the Trouble!...  so I will start with the day we found out.

Two weeks ago we had it all planned we just moved into a new 2 bed house, very cool! Got things in place for my daughter to have a sibling... then well first scan day for my partner arrives.

All was good as we arrived at the hospital we sat down chatted and smirked at unsuspecting others within the room... thinking yes we are also here for a baby scan like you all are, we are then called into the scan room all excited and ready for the scan.

My partner lays out on the bed the gel on belly then suddenly... my partner looks at the screen fixated and says "that's two in there isn't it.." for which the scanning lady replies a simple "yes"  all I saw was two blobs thinking  it's just bubbles or something but I am a man who does not know this sort of thing... my jaw hits the floor shock and well just disbelieve, our daughter on my lap as my partner crying in shock saying "don't cry mummy don't cry" not really understanding what is happening.... my face was hot and just saying.."Wow amazing...wow its crazy..." it felt like a dream for which we both thought we would wake from... but no this was real! And a big slap to the face.

Telling family was fun I must admit.... oh they kind of gathered a sibling was on the cards..But then I pull on the twin's ace card! POW! ...ohhh myyy god!!! Most family members say, but all round happiness.

Present day: it has sunken in slightly and we will make do in our two bed home just now the preparation starts again......
